Note Like many spectators, I am not a great lover of football grounds contained within a running track. Nevertheless, Stompond Lane does have a certain charm, even if it is rather flayed around the edges. The large brick grandstand is of a familiar design, with the dressing rooms beneath the spectator area which is accessed by stairways up the front. Usually, the proximity of the stand to the touchline means that part of the pitch is obscured; however, the design is perfectly suited to watching football at this particular venue, although a couple of flootlight pylons do get in the way. A large covered terrace runs the length of the opposite touchline, although it is in rather a poor state of repair, and there were holes in roof and rear wall when these pics were taken. The clubhouse is oustide the ground itself. DB
