Ringmer v Rye & Iden United, Sussex County League Division One, 30 August 2004, The Caburn Ground. Score 0-3, Attendance 62.
The Caburn was the first ‘away’ ground I visited when I first started following Langney Sports (now Eastbourne Borough) on their travels. Just a couple of miles outside of Lewes, the Caburn has an infamous sloping pitch and is one of the more attractive Sussex venues. Unfortunately Ringmer (in blue) aren’t blessed with great crowds and this miserable performance against Rye & Iden won’t have helped. I actually won the raffle for once, although I don’t suppose too many tickets were sold. DB.
