Bromley vs Burgess Hill Town. Ryman Isthmian League Division One, 22 January 2005, The Clive Christian Stadium. Score 1-0. Attendance 230. Quite an entertaining game in what I would describe as a classic Non League ground (well, three sides of it at least). Bromley (in white) won with a well-taken free kick in the second half and deserved their victory. Baiting of the home fans by the small band of Burgess Hill supporters at the other end made for a good atmosphere despite the rather small crowd, even though the bad language from a minority wasn’t called for. Highlight of the day was possibly the poshest and most deliberate match day announcer in football. DB.
