Snapshots - Bexhill United FC

Bexhill United vs Selsey. Sussex County League Division 2, 4 February 2006, The Polegrove Recreation Ground. Score 0-4.  Attendance 41.
Itís about 68 miles from Selsey to Bexhill and represents one of the longest journeys in the Sussex County League. Selsey brought a few fans with them nevertheless (the attendance looked a bit more than the official figure) and they went home happy. The Polegrove is something of a magnet for grounds enthusiasts, courtesy of its Grade 2 listed wooden stand (I still saw one cretin smoking in it), and the flats behind it are all that separates the ground from the seafront. The home side, promoted last season but struggling at senior level, were never really in it, with Selsey (yellow) winning comfortably with two goals in either half. DB.
