Note To be honest I thought the ‘Racing Club’ moniker was rather ridiculous, until I visited the ground and discovered it was next door to Warwick Racecourse - that’ll teach me! I popped into Townsend Meadow when ostensibly on a ‘cultural’ visit to see Richard III with the family at Stratford, and wrote about it on my Nomad-Online site ... along with other grounds visited along the way. Perhaps I was being a bit harsh in retrospect and my view may have been coloured by the fact that when I visited, The Racers had only recently been a Southern League club. Townsend Meadow boasts seated accommodation on both sides, and is a perfectly adequate Midland Alliance venue. Look out for the FOUR dugouts at the ground. DB |
