Spartan South Midlands League

Note Formed in 1907 Colney Heath FC has had a number of homes during its long history, including The Meadow and The Warren, both in Coursers Road; and Fuzzen Field, just off the High Street. The club moved to its current home at the Recreation Ground in 1952: the present facilities dating from around 1983 when the club was competing in the Herts Senior County League, before winning promotion as champions in 1999/00.

Off the pitch, the club fought for permission to use its old clubhouse.  This was secured with leases still running today, but in August 1988 while modernising the building, it was burnt down.  Without a clubhouse, the Magpies, playing from a Portacabin, gained entry to the Premier Division.  A new clubhouse was built in 1989 and an extension added in 1993, along with post and rails. Floodlights were erected in February 2000.

Cover is provided by the overhang of the clubhouse that extends to almost the half way line of the near touchline. Since the photographs below were taken, a further row of seats has been added, increasing the number to 100; whilst the dugouts now have nine seats apiece.. DB
