Note Wall Park is just a short distance from Pontin’s Holiday Camp and holidaymakers will miss a real treat if they fail to pay a visit! Wall Park is an interesting venue that bears the hallmarks of the Club’s former Western League status. I made a special visit to see the ground’s unique double-decker dugouts and certainly wasn’t disappointed. This wonderful wooden structure, with its steps leading up to the viewing area above is certainly different. What I wasn’t prepared for is a similar building at the far end of the tocuhline, with a further storage area beyond. The two ends are both open but Kerry Miller’s ‘History of Non-League Football Grounds’ has a picture of a small covered area at the Wall Park Road End. The clubhouse on the near touchline has an extension providing further cover, with a terraced area adjacent including a few benches. DB |
