Note Kerry Miller writes that Barum are believed to have moved to their current ground in Mill Road around 1936, having previously played on a number of pitches. Shortly after the move the Main Stand was built into the grass bank that ran along the length of that side of the pitch. Some of the bank is still visible to one side. A ‘chicken run’ covered area was erected in the late 1950s along the opposite touchline but has since been replaced by a more modern, although not too disimilar area of cover. The original changing rooms were rebuilt in around 1980, as was the entrance, named the George Bishop Gate. The clubhouse was built four years later and replaced an earlier structure that had an overhanging roof. DB
