Note   It’s something of a surprise that a town the size of Totton can support two clubs in Division One of the Wessex Club (BAT Sports is the other), especially given the proximity of other clubs in the same league and of course Southampton. When I visited I found Testwood Park to be a little worn around the edges, but with a certain amount of character. The clubhouse is behind the near goal, and there is cover on either side. The stand has bench seating, with the exception of a small area in the middle reserve for club officials beneath the club name picked out nicely on the fascia. The roof supports are are also set back so as not to obscure the view. There is further more basic ‘shed’ area opposite, set back a little from the pitch. Unfortunately the prevailing light did not make photography easy on this occasion.

Of particular interest to PP enthusiasts (well, me actually) were the sunken dugouts which I understand have recently been replaced (a tragedy if true), not to mention the unusual floodlights and a remarkable array of groundkeeping hardware, featured elsewhere on this site. DB
